This painting is of the beautiful village and bay at Pennan in Aberdeenshire. It was a difficult view to capture as the village is nestled under steep cliffs metres from the sea. My grandmother was born in Pennan and it's always been a special place for me. The 1983 film "Local Hero" was filmed in Pennan and because of the film the red telephone box became famous with visitors from all over the world calling home from there. size incl frame 840mm x 340mm
